The importance of freedom

#createyourstyle: In its new campaign, Schwarzkopf celebrates personality and inspires you to be the best version of yourself! Freedom gives you the opportunity to look the way you want to be. Or do what you want to do—like model David. Sometimes you feel pressured to do things or adopt a look you don't like, but freedom also means the freedom to choose and the freedom to say no!

When you're free, you can do whatever you want. Without external restrictions, nothing and no one can stop you. Freedom isn't just something made possible by the society around you. "For me, freedom is the most important thing," explains model David in the video below. Freedom starts in your own head. We often limit our own opportunities by telling ourselves, "No, I can't, it's impossible, it won't work." By talking yourself out of opportunities, you limit your personal growth.

David shares with us his opinion on what freedom means to him:

Freedom is... the air of wanting to look like

Your fashion and hairstyle choices can be limited by external or internal factors. People may give you their opinions on what you should or shouldn't wear. Hair styles or colors are similarly limited by the opinions of others. You may think a straight bob doesn't suit you or that you're more of a long-haired type. But if you keep stopping yourself, you'll never be the best version of yourself. Model David went beyond his comfort zone by opting for a short buzz cut.

Of course, freedom shouldn't stop at just yourself. Everyone has the right to be free to make their own choices. That's why it's important to give others the same freedom you allow yourself, especially those who wear extravagant styles or looks you don't personally like.

This doesn't mean you should compliment looks you don't like, but that different looks are an enrichment that makes life better.

We admit it: sometimes being free isn't easy. We don't break free from the things that hold us back so easily. All you need is a little daily motivation. For example, the following quotes written at home on a sticky note might inspire you:

"Freedom has no value unless it includes the freedom to make mistakes." - Gandhi
"Everything truly great and inspiring is created by an individual working freely." - Albert Einstein
“The freedom to be oneself is the highest form of justice toward others.” - Mr. de Chazal
"Liberty consists in doing what one desires." - John Stuart Mill
"Freedom is the possibility of being, not the obligation to be." - René Margritte
“Freedom is the oxygen of the soul.” - Moshe Daya
